Lincoln/Kennedy coincidences
« on: Today at 05:01:55 PM »
There are a number of remarkable coincidences between the assassinations of Lincoln and Kennedy which have been known and talked about since shortly after the JFKA. I just discovered an online article that listed a few:

"1. Lincoln and Kennedy: A Century of Uncanny Echoes

Both presidents were elected to Congress in the year ending in 46, Lincoln in 1846 and Kennedy in 1946, and both rose to the presidency in a year ending in 60, precisely one hundred years apart. Their successors compounded the strangeness further. Both of the presidents' successors were Southern Democrats named Johnson, Andrew and Lyndon, with six-letter first names and born in years ending in 08.

Both presidents were shot on a Friday, in the back of the head, while seated beside their wives who remained uninjured. The assassins, John Wilkes Booth and Lee Harvey Oswald, were known by their three names, each containing fifteen letters, and both were killed before standing trial. Historians and skeptics have noted that some items on the famous list are embellished or simply false, but the verified overlaps, such as the presidents being elected 100 years apart and succeeded by men with matching surnames, are remarkable enough to keep historians talking."

Some of these I knew and some I did not. I knew JFK had been elected to Congress in 1946 but didn't know the year Lincoln was elected. I also didn't know both Johnson's were born in a year ending in 08.

Another one not mentioned is that both presidents were in the company of another couple, the husband of which was seriously wounded in the attack. I could go on but it might be fun for others to contribute to the list.
