I guess we can add this to the long list of subjects you are ignorant about. The below article has a chart that lists muzzle velocities for a wide variety of loads for a muzzle loading rifle and most of them are supersonic.

I guess reading comprehension isn't your strong suit either. I didn't say the muzzle loading rifle had any bearing on what Bowers heard. It had a bearing on what I heard. I heard a double sound from a single shot. I know it was a single shot because a muzzle loader can't fire two shots in rapid succession.

I have heard rifles fire, maybe 1000 times, and never heard two booms from a single shot.

Why you heard two boom-sounds from a single shot from muzzle-loaded rifle suggests you have cognitive difficulties.

There is no indication Bowers suffered from the same cognitive difficulties you have.

Bowers appears to have been a sound and sane witness.
