Quoting Douglass or DiEugenio on what they think JFK was going to do in Vietnam is not stating facts. It's simply repeating their opinions of what he was going to do.

JFK's own words have been cited. Statements by people around JFK including his top advisers have been cited. Primary sources have been cited. Countering that with the opinion of others isn't a credible response.

You are cherry-picking quotes in order to distort Kennedy's intention...

You are taking what Douglass spelled-out as JFK placating conventional politics entrenched in US government in order to get elected and misrepresenting them as policy...

DiEugenio and Douglass backed up what they wrote with factual references to what Kennedy was really doing...

I am quoting JFK on what he wanted to do in Vietnam. On what we needed to do. And his views about the threat that communists posed to the US. His *exact* words. And I can give you more.

JFK said this would happen, that if we simply left that South Vietnam would fall and then the other dominoes like Cambodia would be next. Then all of those horrors that communists do would follow. Communists gonna' do what communists do. Douglass and DiEugenio truly think they are nice people; that the only reason they opposed us was because we forced them to. If we played nice with them they would reciprocate. This is what they think. How much more history of how communist behave, how they engage in mass murder and repression, must be shown? An entire century of it should be enough.

The very fact that we left in 1973 and the communists continued to wage war - in Vietnam, in Laos, in Cambodia - puts a lie to the claims that they wanted peace, that we could work in good faith with them. Hanoi didn't want peace; they wanted victory - not in the name of Vietnamese nationalism but in the name of communism (it's why they supported the Pathet Lao and the Khmer Rouge). Once we left that's what they got.

The fact that the CCP is going to bail out many nation-states when the ‘economic event’ takes place shows how patient the children of Lenin are become. Money is blood.
