It is worth noting that in their various and conflicting SBT trajectory illustrations, lone-gunman theorists have failed to include one or more of these three key facts: (1) the HSCA FPP's placement of the back wound at T1, i.e.,
below the throat wound, (2) the HSCA FPP's acknowledgment that the autopsy photo of the back wound shows
the bullet hit at an upward angle and then tunneled at an upward angle (a fact that Dr. Werner Spitz had already confirmed for the Rockefeller Commission in 1975), and (3) Dr. Baden's demonstration of how far forward JFK would have had to be leaning to make the T1 entry wound and the upward trajectory through the neck line up with a shot from the sixth-floor window.
One myth that is common in pro-SBT trajectory presentations is the WC's fiction that the back wound was above the throat wound and that the bullet traveled downward through JFK's neck. This is the case even in pro-SBT presentations that show JFK sitting upright with his head leaning only slightly forward.
Some examples:
The Single Bullet TheoryWhile showing JFK sitting straight up with his head held upright, this video shows the bullet hitting above the throat wound and then traveling downward through the neck. The narration even specifies that the bullet "traveled downward, exiting through his throat."
JFK Assassination: Father, Son Probe Single-Bullet Theory This shows the SBT trajectory depiction used in NOVA's 2013
Cold Case JFK documentary. It has JFK sitting straight up with his head held upright, and yet it has the bullet hitting at the base of the neck, above the throat wound, and even going through the top of the shirt collar to hit above the throat wound, ignoring the fact that the hole in the back of JFK's shirt was
over 5 inches below the collar. And, of course, it has the bullet traveling downward through JFK's neck.
The Kennedy Assassination: Beyond ConspiracyThis is Dale Myers' SBT trajectory animation.
It is a particularly curious, confused, and misleading animation. To his credit, Myers has JFK sitting upright with his head tilted only slightly forward, and he actually places the back wound about 5 inches below the coat collar, but things go badly downhill from there.
For starters, when Myers shows the back wound's location, he doesn't show the shirt collar. A number of photos/footage show that part of JFK's shirt collar was visible above the coat collar.
Then, when he shows a frontal view of JFK to illustrate the alleged exit point in the throat, he has the coat collar riding up so high on JFK's back that it's about an inch above JFK's hairline, which markedly contradicts his depiction of the coat collar in his portrayal of the back wound's entry point. With the coat collar so high on the back, it gives the visual impression that the back wound was above the throat wound. Even worse, he leaves the coat collar in this fictional position from that point onward in the video.
When Myers first shows a trajectory line from JFK's throat, he shows the bullet traveling downward toward Connally and apparently on a downward trajectory from the back wound. I say "apparently" because Myers initially provides no trajectory line into JFK's back and no line through the neck. He only shows a trajectory line exiting the throat.
But, 41 seconds later in the video, when Myers does show a trajectory line from the back wound through the throat wound, he has the bullet entering the back at a point
above the throat wound and traveling
downward through the neck, even though he still has JFK sitting upright with his head only slightly tilted forward.
Has Myers never read what the HSCA FPP's report says about the trajectory through the neck, i.e., that the bullet entered and tunneled at an upward angle, not a downward angle? Has Myers never seen the HSCA FPP's diagram of their SBT trajectory, which shows Kennedy's head and torso tilted substantially forward? Has Myers never seen Dr. Baden's demonstration of how far forward JFK would have had to be leaning to make the FPP's SBT trajectory align with the sixth-floor window?
In an amazing statement of falsehood, Myers says that JFK and Connally "react at the same time"! Do the media outlets that have aired Myers' animation not have any fact checkers? Not even the WC made this demonstrably false claim.
Also, Myers has the alleged SBT bullet hitting JFK and Connally in Z224, even though Connally himself -- you know, the guy who actually experienced the wounding -- said he was certain he was not hit before Z229.

Dale Myers' Single-Bullet Presentation DestroyedDr. John Lattimer's various SBT trajectory illustrations showed the entry point at C3/C4, visibly above the throat wound, and showed the bullet traveling downward through the neck (e.g.,
"Two of Dr. John Lattimer’s Single-Bullet Theory Trajectory Illustrations"). WC apologists in this very forum have posted Lattimer's fictional SBT trajectory diagrams to defend the SBT. Matt Douthit presents two of Lattimer's SBT diagrams in this excellent video with Pat Speer:
Lattimer Revisited Speer and Douthit not only debunk Lattimer's SBT claims but also address other issues related to the shooting, such as the bunched-clothing theory and the Thorburn-position myth. They also point out that the T1 location destroys the SBT.
Of course, Lattimer did his diagrams to support CE 385, the WC's diagram of the SBT's supposed trajectory through JFK's neck, which puts the back wound above the throat wound and shows the bullet traveling downward through the neck. The diagram was drawn under Dr. Humes's direction for the WC. The diagram is cited three times in the Warren Report and was published as one of the WC's exhibits (16 H 977). You can view it here:
