People forget that Blakey was all-in on the SBT theory. He accepted the SBT, even as he suspected there was a second gunsel at the GK, who fired a weapon, but did no damage.
So Blakey may have thought it would be a waste of time to record Burkley's insights, and "clog up" his findings.
