Anything reported by Dallas should be suspect as they were involved in destroying evidence within Dealey Plaza.

To make a blank round.
The planted magic bullet had to be accounted for. If three slugs were found,
then the magic bullet could not exist.

Again, no one has yet duplicated the dent on CE 543 on a bullet fired from a rifle. The HSCA firearms panel claimed they did, but their own photos prove they did not. Chad Zimmerman claimed he did, but his own photos prove he did not. There are several other serious problems with CE 543 that WC apologists still have not explained. CE 543 could not have been used to fire a bullet during the assassination.

This is another issue where WC defenders simply refuse to face cold, hard facts that refute the lone-gunman theory.

Mortal-error theorists have correctly identified CE 543 as hard evidence that the sixth-floor gunman could have only fired two shots. Howard Donahue, the originator of the mortal-error theory and a court-certified firearms and ballistics expert, recognized this fact early on.

For more information on CE 543, see my article on the subject:

"The Dented Shell: Hard Evidence of Conspiracy in the JFK Assassination"

Another excellent analysis of CE 543 is Josiah Thompson's discussion on it in his 2021 book Last Second in Dallas, pp. 179-185.

With 3 Hulls being found inside the sniper's nest, the WC only had 2 options, (1) Plant a bullet/fragments, or (2) declare a "missed shot". They went the easy route. Yet, the HSCA declares a "missed shot" and these same charlatans immediately have a cow. Goose/Gander here.

A suspect who does not drive or at least has no access to a vehicle was able to conceal, for all time, where he purchased both the very common revolver
ammunition, as well as the much more rare rifle ammo. Left behind on the sixth floor are only a poorly concealed rifle and one empty ammo clip.
Three empty rifle cartridges are found at the assumed scene. The rifle's stripper clip had six rounds capacity, along with a  possibility of a seventh
round in the chamber.

The suspect, Oswald, either only brought three live rifle rounds to the sixth floor but about eighteen pistol rounds to East 10th St.
or he hid or disposed of several rifle rounds. However, he retained the shorter, excess pistol rounds in a shirt pocket, contents of which
escaped notice until he was a DPD prisoner of several hours.

No pistol, no excess rifle ammo, even for escape from the TSBD by suicide, let alone to possibly shoot his way out of immediate capture
at the TSBD were carried as options, or even in the event of rifle misfire or initial misses of the target? Is their doubt the shooter was capable
of firing a full six shot clip at the target rapidly enough if it became necessary?

No live ammunition or gun cleaning accessories were found at his rooming house, the Paine residence, or at the TSBD.

Were live pistol rounds in his pocket during initial interrogation? it appears that they were.

Prepping his kit for planned November 22 activities, doesn't seem to make much sense.

Oswald carries about 18 pistol rounds, only three Carcano rifle rounds. No trace of rifle ammunition was found at the rooming house.

AI Overview                 The five live .38 caliber cartridges were found in Oswald's shirt pocket after he was brought to the police station, not during the initial physical arrest at the Texas Theatre. This search and recovery occurred in the basement assembly room of the Dallas Police Department at approximately 4:05 p.m. CST on November 22, 1963, while he was waiting outside an interrogation and lineup room.

According to the National Archives Warren Commission Report, Oswald was disarmed of his loaded .38-caliber Smith & Wesson revolver during the scuffle inside the Texas Theatre. The six live cartridges in the pistol and the five additional live rounds discovered later in his pocket matched the description of copper-coated Western .38 Specials.

Would you be willing to defend Mssr. Oswald at his trial for the murder of JFK if the opportunity arose in an alternate universe, Tom?
