Rosemary Willis had a two stage reaction to the first shot. She was running full tilt when she heard the first shot and naturally she wouldn't turn her head and look behind her while still moving. First she had to arrest her forward momentum. After coming to a complete stop, she made a deliberate but very definite turn to look back in the direction of the TSBD. That is why she didn't turn until several seconds had elapsed after the shot before she looked back in the direction the sound seemed to have come from. JBC on the other hand didn't need to do that. He could safely turn his head as soon as he recognized the sound of a high powered rifle. By my analysis, the started turning to look over his right shoulder about 3/4 second after hearing the shot.

Minor correction:

Connally started turning his head to his right to catch a glimpse of JFK over his right shoulder about two seconds after he heard Oswald's first, missing-everything, shot at "Z-124. Immediately before that he had turned his head quickly to his left and was "caught" looking virtually straight forward in the Croft photo.

Question: Is her face turned squarely in their direction in those frames?

Answer: No, it isn't.

You seem to think she might have been looking obliquely or sideways at them.
