Why didn't the so-called Republicans want him to testify in an open hearing?

The difficulty of being Me in today's America is that I am neither a foaming-at-the-mouth Trump Cultist nor in the grip of near-terminal TDS. Indeed, I would barely qualify as "partisan" at all - nearly left-wing on some issues, nearly right-wing on others, and don't care at all about lots of them. As previously stated, I voted for Obama twice, Trump twice and didn't vote at all last time. I voted for Dubya once and Kerry once. Pretty solid non-fanatic credentials it seems to Me.

I thus retain my ability to think critically and rationally, free of the cultist allegiances that would require me to have a knee-jerk, cult-approved position on every issue. You, of course, are in the grip of near-terminal TDS. What you have to say on every issue is as predictable as the sunrise. I could write your posts for you, just as I could write the posts of your Trump Cult opponents. You folks live in echo chambers where your dubious authority figures tell you what to think and reinforce your own paranoia.

When The Donald first surfaced as a candidate, I was enthusiastic and my wife was a budding Trump Cultist. Because we are rational folks, the scales have gradually fallen from our eyes. We support many of his policies, and I still chalk up some of his shtick to an act, but he clearly has more than one screw loose and is somewhat frightening and potentially dangerous at an Armageddon-threatening level. The country would be far better served by someone with similar policies who didn't have several screws loose.

Events like Jan. 6th can be viewed rationally or from the perspective of TDS or Trump Cultism. Rationally, it was a peaceful gathering that escalated to a Monty Python skit and then to a seriously frightening event for a host of contributing factors. The term "insurrection" simply doesn't fit. Certainly, Trump partisanism was a major factor in the event - but I don't see it as the cause of the escalation. How it could rationally be laid at the feet of Trump in any sense other than "his claims of election fraud were certainly a motivation, and his supporters tend to be fanatics" escapes me.

Jack Smith is a partisan hack, simple as that. I would suppose this was the reason the GOP was disinclined to have him testify publicly - i.e., the not-unreasonable concern that he would use this stage for partisan hackmanship. Probably he should have been allowed to testify publicly, so this was arguably an error in judgment by the partisan hack Representatives, but such is the state of cultism that prevails in the country today.

In my quiet little Arizona town that is mostly still living in 1958, no one even seems to talk about this stuff; it literally never even comes up. If I am surrounded by Trump Cultists and TDS sufferers, they are the quietest, most peaceful bunch you can imagine. When I read the rants of Trump Cultists and TDS sufferers, the phrase "Get a life" always springs to mind. Once someone has revealed himself to be a Trump Cultist or TDS Sufferer, I must say it colors my perspective on their JFKA-related posts.

It's rather humorous, is it not, that TG repeatedly uses the term "rants" in relation to my posts. Talk about the pot calling the kettle black. If the phrase "mindless rant" did not exist, we'd have to invent it just for Tom. Always - always, always, always - the posts of Trump Cultists and TDS Sufferers tell you far more about them than anything else. But they never see this ... because they are Trump Cultists and TDS Sufferers!

    You let guys such as Smith, or any member of the Biden Crime Family testify in an, "open hearing", and it will be "cut up" and then used as a propaganda tool by the Fake News Media. The "cut up" job that CBS "60 Minutes" did with the Harris interview is proof positive of this.

You have now blessed us with four separate posts in response to my two-liner. I'm flattered, I guess. In the context of his investigation of The Donald, at least, better-informed minds than mine have used the term partisan hack in reference to Jacko. "Highly politically motivated and influenced," to put it in more statesmanlike terms. TDS and Trump Cultism seem to have turned more than one previously rational person into a partisan hack. I will cheerfully apply the same term to any number of Trump Cultists if this will assuage your fury.

Alas, when I reappeared here I allotted myself exactly one week, which has expired to the very minute. In that time, I have stirred the pot with 55 posts and reached the coveted 1,000-post milestone. Thank you for your kind attention, you've been a lovely audience. I now return to the Factoid Buster Cave, to emerge at such time, if any, as another factoid like the supposed Gerhart sighting of Oswald captures my attention. I am pleased to have at least dented an LN factoid like the "early missed shot" for a change (and even introduced my favorite conspiracy theory!).

You are trying to reason with someone who thinks the Soviet Union won the Cold War. The nation built on the Marxist-Leninist idea of a command economy, no private property, one party state and a dictatorship of the proletariat was victorious. And the liberal democratic capitalism - that would be us - lost. Even though the Soviet Union no longer exists. The country that won. Poof, vanished. Apparently they faked their collapse and disappearance.

Hell, even Oswald recognized that it was a failure. He told everyone about it. While he was also supposedly a KGB agent or asset. Yes, the same guy who was saying it was a slave state, a failure of true Marxism was also working for them. But he was instructed to say this. His criticism of Marxist-Leninism was really evidence that he supported it. Yes he did.
