I thought that Justine Bateman, of all people, had an insightful analysis. She said that the debate should be framed not in terms of "right" vs. "left" but rather "sane" vs. "insane." Too many people on both the right and left are, alas, insane cultists. Because I saw her statements on FOX, naturally all the comments defined "insane" as anyone who isn't a Trump cultist. My best friend happens to share almost none of my religious or political views but we get along fine because neither one of us is an insane cultist.
