The Trump cycle:

1. Announce big tariffs.

2. Belatedly realize this won't work.

3. Calls off the tariffs.

4. Announce they will go back to tariffs in 30 or 90 days.

Repeat, repeat, repeat.

You forgot the part where most countries came begging for a deal.  Except for our enemies like China and Canada.  Even "Europe" wants a deal.  That will even the playing field in most instances and undo some of the disaster unleashed by Bill Clinton that wiped manufacturing jobs off the map. U-S-A, U-S-A.

"Certain goods"? Even You are unsure of what Specific Products would be subject to a "tariff". The USA is the Largest Consumer Nation in the World. All the other countries in the World have to have access to the Purchasing Power of the USA. It's that simple and Trump is using this Massive Leverage. Trump at heart is an Isolationist. Military Dominance + Energy Independence + The Dome Defense. Bottom Line, the other countries need the USA far more than the USA needs them. Indisputable, and as the other nations begin taking a knee, it will soon become obvious to everyone. The Tree Huggers too, (lumber).

Do you still actually believe Trump is playing 4D chess? Do you also think Navarro and his made-up alter ego, Ron Vara, are economic geniuses who know better than everyone else?

Trump's professor at Wharton said that Heir Drumpf was the dumbest student he ever taught and to this day Trump still doesn't understand what a tariff is. That dumbass still thinks it's a tax on foreign countries. None of his sycophants have had the guts to call him out on this; they refuse to believe he could be that stupid. Since his first term, he has repeatedly bragged about how his tariffs on China raked in billions. His severe learning disability and Dunning Kruger syndrome prevents him from grasping and accepting the concept of tariffs. He refuses to acknowledge that, as Kamala pointed out, they function like a sales tax on U.S. consumers who buy foreign goods. Tariffs are intended to encourage consumers to buy domestically by raising the cost of foreign products. Yet Trump believes that China pays these tariffs. And you supporters think he’s some kind of negotiating genius playing 4D chess to make other countries bend the knee.

Riddle me this comrade: why didn't he impose any tariffs on Russia while he slapped them hard on Ukraine? Trumputin claimed he didn’t want to interfere with peace negotiations. His MAGAT followers are either more retarded than he is, or they are Russian Nazi trolls, or perhaps both.

So, now Canada is an enemy?

Even "Europe" wants a deal.

Like Canadians, Europeans are reasonable people. If they can prevent a crisis, sure they want a deal. But not at any cost!

That will even the playing field in most instances and undo some of the disaster unleashed by Bill Clinton that wiped manufacturing jobs off the map.

Just how delusional can you be? Presidents don't have the means or power to prevent a company to move to another country, where labor costs are lower.
It's economics and shareholder profits that cause a company to move production to another country. And tariffs won't bring them back.

Trump is playing a very dangerous game and he is losing big time. China doesn't play along, Canadians boycot US products, Canada and the EU are discussing alternative deals and China is moving it's export to the EU.

That's why Trump went eyeball to eyeball and blinked (note the Kennedy reference). He has found out that things are not going the way he wanted, so he is backing down....

Reduction to a basic rate tariff of 10% and a 90 days waiting period, within a matter of days after his presentation in the White House gardens. What a joke!

U-S-A, U-S-A.

All the way into a depression.....

So, you ran out of arguments and are now throwing a tantrum?

Trump won because he lied about just about everything and enough misguided fools believed him.
They are now starting to protest at town hall meetings....

And, yes, because of this clown it's not only us who have to live with it, but the next generations as well. That's one hell of a legacy to pass on to your kids and grandchildren!

The "begging for deals is a made up lie by Donald Trump. They aren't going to Trump begging for deals. They are going to other countries to make deals, including China.

Why make a deal with Trump who routinely changes his mind and breaks the deal?

Question: Name the countries that came begging for deals?

Name your sources.

And quoting Ron Vara is not a valid source.

Peter Navarro came up with his imaginary friend "Ron Vara" (rearrange the letters to "Navarro" to make "Ron Vara". And "Ron Vara" first appeared in Peter Navarro's book in 2001 so I assume the inspiration for this is "Harry Potter and the Chambers of Secret." But what comes to mind is debates between Peter and Ron, like those between Gollum Smeagol where Peter urges to be nice to Americans while Ron insists that they must be made to suffer.

All that happened is that none of the other countries caved and said "We won't put any tariff on the U. S. but could you please remove or at least reduce the tariff you charge." Instead they said, no deal, we are coming with counter tariffs if you dont tback off, and Trump, as is his nature, backed off. End of story.

I can understand now why you have a Ukrainian flag instead of a US flag.  The America last days are over.   Trump has put the US first.  That's some tough medicine for the America haters who want failure and endless handouts to fund endless wars, illegal immigrants, and support the economies of other countries around the world while the US falls further into debt.  The US is in ruins because we pay for the national defense of much of the world.  Canada, "Europe", Japan etc don't have to pay anything for their own national defense because they rely on the US.  That is not sustainable.  Sticking your head in the sand because you hate Trump and ignoring the national debt is just accepting the coming economic catastrophe.
