Bernie Sanders endorses Joe Biden for President. The Democratic party is united behind President Biden.

“The last thing this country needs is a Donald Trump or some other right-wing demagogue who is going to try to undermine American democracy or take away a woman’s right to choose"

Elizabeth Warren unloads on Alabama senator blocking all top military promotions over abortion

Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-MA) blasted Sen. Tommy Tuberville (R-AL) on Tuesday after he blocked advancement for all top military officials because of a Department of Defense abortion policy.

In a speech on the Senate floor, Warren explained how Tuberville had taken extraordinary steps to oppose a policy supporting service members who need to travel for an abortion.

"Occasionally, a senator may object to an individual nomination, usually to indicate opposition to that appointment or to insist on answers to questions from a federal agency," she explained. "But that is not what Senator from Alabama is doing."

"Instead, he is blocking every single top military leader from advancing indefinitely," she continued. "He's snared all 184 top-level service members who are currently slated for advancement, and he stopped every single one of them dead in their tracks."

Warren pointed out Tuberville sits on the Armed Services Committee and has other opportunities to influence DOD policy.

"The senator is blocking 184 top military promotions because he disagrees with the Department of Defense policy to help service members and their families access needed health care, specifically to travel to access abortion care," she observed. "Now, I disagree with the senator on that issue, but if he wants to press for votes to reverse DOD's health care policies, he can do that."

"That is how democracy works," she added.

Biden announces he is running for re-election, framing 2024 as a choice between 'more rights or fewer'

WASHINGTON — President Joe Biden made his re-election bid official Tuesday, capping months of speculation over his plans four years to the day since he announced his 2020 campaign.

In a video titled "Freedom" — which opens with a scene of the Jan. 6 attack on the Capitol, followed by an image of an abortion rights protest — Biden said that after he has spent his first term fighting for the country’s democracy, "MAGA extremists are lining up" to cut the social safety net and take away personal liberties.

"Cutting Social Security that you’ve paid for your entire life while cutting taxes for the very wealthy. Dictating what health care decisions women can make, banning books and telling people who they can love. All while making it more difficult for you to be able to vote," he said.

He made the case that his administration still has more to do.

"When I ran for president four years ago, I said we are in a battle for the soul of America. And we still are. The question we are facing is whether in the years ahead we have more freedom or less freedom, more rights or fewer," he said, adding: "This is not a time to be complacent. That’s why I’m running for re-election."

The launch is an effort to position Biden as the nation's best hope to defeat a Republican opponent and cement his administration's successes heading into 2024.

The symmetry of the fourth anniversary is a fitting opening for a president who has leaned into history at key moments to pitch his vision to Americans about the road ahead.

Biden launched his campaign in 2019 with a video message, as well — warning that four more years of Donald Trump would “forever and fundamentally alter the character of this nation, who we are," and highlighting the 2017 violence at a white nationalist rally in Charlottesville, Virginia. His 2024 launch video does not mention Trump by name, although the specter of a rematch and an acknowledgment of the forces of Trumpism were there. The video features an image of Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene, R-Ga., one of Trump's staunchest supporters, and a photo of Trump standing beside Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis, who is seen as a chief rival for the Republican nomination.

In his State of the Union address in February, Biden used the words “finish the job” more than a dozen times and warned of Republicans who "want to take the economy hostage." He has again and again painted a contrast with so-called MAGA Republicans, pointing to former and potential future rival Trump and the elected GOP officials he said have "proposed huge cuts" to "programs that millions of hard-working and middle-class Americans count on."

A visit to Ireland “reinforced” his decision to run again, Biden said this month. Parts of his anticipated re-election video were recorded last weekend in Rehoboth Beach, Delaware, where he has a home, after he returned from traveling in Ireland, according to two sources familiar with the matter.

The rollout is not unusual. In 2011, President Barack Obama and Biden, then the vice president, featured voters across the country in a video announcing their re-election campaign, titled “It Begins With Us.”

Biden addressed the North American Building Trade Union in Washington later Tuesday, a nod to his vow to lead “the most pro-union administration in American history." The event mirrors the first rally of his 2020 campaign, which was held at a Pittsburgh union hall.

In a similar move, Vice President Kamala Harris, who Biden has said would run for re-election alongside him, joined Democratic allies for an abortion rights rally at her alma mater, Howard University, a historically Black university in Washington, D.C. Howard was her first stop after she announced her own 2020 presidential bid in a television appearance.

Harris said she was “proud to run for re-election” with Biden “so we can finish the job.”

Other planning moves by Biden's team came in the countdown to Tuesday's early-morning announcement. NBC News reported Sunday night that Biden was set to tap Julie Chavez Rodriguez to head his 2024 campaign.

Meanwhile, NBC News reported last week that Biden’s biggest financial supporters planned to gather Friday in Washington, where his top aides will prepare the Democratic Party’s biggest donors and bundlers to amplify campaign messaging.

President Biden @POTUS

Over 12 million jobs have been created since I took office. Unemployment has been below 4% for 14 straight months. More Americans are applying to start small businesses.

The progress we’ve made is creating strong, sustainable economic growth.

Under my predecessor, Infrastructure Week was a punchline.

Now, we’re making Infrastructure Decade a headline.

My economic plan is a blue-collar blueprint to rebuild America.

It’s for you.

Union workers are the best in the world.

And they're leading the way – getting shovels in the ground, cranes in the air, and factories opened across America.

On my watch, every federal project will be built by American workers –using American products – creating American jobs.

That’s been the law since the 1930s, but no one had the nerve to insist on it.

Tune in as I discuss how my Investing in America agenda is bringing manufacturing back, rebuilding the middle class, and creating good-paying union jobs.

President Biden’s Investing in America agenda is improving America’s infrastructure with nearly $300 million to repair nine bridges across the country that serve over 230,000 vehicles combined per day.

Previous presidents always made campaign promises to repair and rebuild our crumbling infrastructure but never came through on those promises.

One of President Biden's main campaign promises in 2020 was to invest in America and pass an infrastructure bill.

President Biden kept that promise with the passing the largest infrastructure bill in history after being in office for only 10 months.

More new jobs have been created and our bridges will be safe to drive on thanks to President Biden.

President Biden has delivered for America keeping his campaign promise and he is getting the job done.

There are an amazing number of people whose sole political objective is to keep Trump from being elected.  They have been programmed by the media and state sponsored propaganda to believe that the most important issue in the entire world is keeping Trump out of office at all costs.  Why he is such a danger is left ambiguous.  Keeping Trump from being elected is more important than world war, the economy, or any issue.  It is the sole objective of these radicalized individuals.  Their obsession and hatred of Trump runs so deep that it overrides even their own personal interests.  It overrides the law.  It overrides the Constitution.  The ends justify any means.  What is driving this obsessive hate fueled rage?  After the election of Obama, many leftists felt that America had turned some type of socialist corner and the future would entail a litany of woke leaders.  It would begin with Hillary - the first woman etc.

Trump sunk this utopian dream. Never in the wildest imagination of the elitist establishment could they imagine that someone outside their sphere of influence could ever be elected to the presidency.  In their arrogance, they never considered the possibility that the American public could decide via a truly democratic process who would be elected.  These experts were marginalized and exposed as frauds under Trump.  He demanded results.  He didn't buy that they were "experts" merely because they had managed to gain positions of influence to enrich themselves through corruption.  These people, however, control important levers of power.  They make the laws, decide who they enforce them against, they influence the mass media and social media, and set the narrative.  These forces were deployed without limitation with the sole objective to vilify Trump.  They have been relentless over the last six years.  CNN and MSNBC run nothing but anti-Trump propaganda.  Turn those networks on at any random point of the day and they will be running a Trump-related story or there will be a Trump-related story on within minutes.  It goes on and on.  Day after day.  An asteroid could be heading to destroy Earth and CNN would be running a story about Trump.  They have been successful in convincing anyone with an open mind that electing Trump would be the worst possible thing in history.  Better to be penniless and die in WWIII than allow Trump to send out insensitive Tweets.  He is not nice.  Boo-hoo.  That is the New America.

There is no ambiguity at all. People have already experienced the disaster that is Trump for four years. They've seen enough and don't want to go through that again. Easy to understand.
When Trump was in the White House I woke up several times wondering what the idiot had done next. Under Biden there was no reason for me to worry.

They have been successful in convincing anyone with an open mind that electing Trump would be the worst possible thing in history.

If they can convince people with an open mind, then their message is probably the right one!
