Looks like a new book coming out on her and more.  Lengthy article and stripping out the juicy gossipy parts of the story make it a worthwhile read.

The JFK Mistress Gunned Down in Cold Blood
Christopher Dickey World News Editor

...

OK. Putting fiction aside, what do we really know about what happened on the C&O Towpath shortly after noon on Oct. 12, 1964?

Several facts are not in dispute.

Meyer frequently took breaks from her painting to go down to the canal, just above the banks of the Potomac, for a long walk. Its preservation was a cause celèbre in Georgetown, but it would not be made a national park until the 1970s and it was not well maintained.

......It took years for Janney to track down Willam L. Mitchell, who changed his legal name to Bill Mitchell, and to establish that he was working at the Pentagon—perhaps with some connection to special ops—at the time he schlepped all the way over to the towpath to run at lunchtime that Monday in October.
In the first edition of Mary’s Mosaic, Janney speculated that Mitchell might be dead. By the third edition, he had found him and persuaded him to be deposed, but Mitchell said—not altogether implausibly more than 50 years after the fact—that on virtually every key point he could not remember the answers to Janney’s questions.

As Reagan said, "I paid for this microphone..."

Janney even stole credit for discovery of his "missing" CIA assassin's middle name!

1.0 out of 5 stars Peter Janney Attacked the Author of the Only Other 1 Star Review (See comments in review by Lisa Pease)
Reviewed in the United States on August 8, 2012
Format: Hardcover
What a thin skin on an author who obviously did not do his homework. His book is built around the false premise that a UC Berkeley PhD who earlier was a witness against Ray Crump, was actually a CIA assassin of Mary Pinchot Meyer, mostly because author Janney and his comrades claimed not to be able to locate this witness. Now that the mysterious missing witness has been located, Janney has no alternative suspected "assassin" named in his book.

The "missing" villain in Janney's book is William Lockwood Mitchell, a UC Berkeley, PhD
