Never-before-seen colour footage of motorcade  (Read 3201 times)

From The Daily Mail:

"Never-before-seen colour footage has emerged of JFK riding in
his presidential motorcade moments before he is assassinated.

The short clip, which was believed lost until earlier this year,
shows the President looking relaxed and giving a thumbs up
as he is driven past cheering crowds lined up along Main Street
in Dallas.

The footage was shot shortly before the motorcade headed west
towards Dealey Plaza, where Kennedy was assassinated.

It was taken by office worker Andre Leche, who was living in
Dallas at the time. He had just bought a new movie camera
and thought the President's visit would be a perfect opportunity
to use it."

I watched the footage a few times. It's a great record
of the mood in the limo, shortly before things went wrong.
Could it be JFK's thumbs-up gesture is something else?
It looks to me he says: "Didn't we go that way last time
I was here?" We'll never know...

I can't get the video to play. ~sigh~

But in the still frames (like the one below), I do notice the bunched-up nature of JFK's jacket (again), plus the undeniable "lower" sitting position of Governor Connally when compared to President Kennedy:

"Didn't we go that way last time I was here?"

As a matter of fact, they did.....

Hi David,
I had the same problem... You probably use an ad-blocker (or two)?
Whitelisting/deactivating the ad-blocker did it for me... I also run
a 'clean' (that's without any plugins) browser (Chrome) to bypass
unwilling pages like these...
Good luck,
Gert

No, Gert, I have no ad-blocker. I've tried 5 times so far. It hasn't played yet.

Thanks, Brian.

BTW, that's definitely not a "thumbs up" sign JFK is giving. It's a mystery as to why the Daily Mail UK site would say that Kennedy is giving a thumbs-up to the crowd when he's obviously having a chat with John Connally at that moment.

I think Gert might be right. He seems to be pointing to the east--behind him--with his thumb. Interesting.

Thanks from me too, Brian! thumbs1xx
On the matter of the gesture JFK makes: the mistake of it being a thumbs-up
is easily made, especially if one isn't so well informed as many forum members.
To be honest: I would have blindly accepted this explanation a few days ago, before
I saw the images of the 1960 motorcade at practically the same location...
I love the fact that there's still new footage surfacing! Gives me hope that some day...
