I looked at 2 police sniper videos and observed that the body reaction is with the direction of the bullets. They all do the same thing.
In one shooting there is a wall behind the hostage taker so there isnt any doubt about the direction of the bullets. If you watch the nose it jerks in with the path of bullet.
Also in the 2nd shooting, the damage to the persons face is primarily on the side of the entry. Bones and blood fly everywhere forward.

Re JFK , if you look at the oscillation of JFK's body it makes an S shaped pattern before falling forward down and onto the limo seat.
If the headshot were from behind, I wonder if the ocillation pattern would be different or reversed. I am not a nobel physics recipient so I am not sure of the physics here...

ouch !

the first guy is hit in his face left side, correct ? It looks his head goes with the bullet then as he falls to his right and to the back.
PS:
was he hit from the front or from the side ?

with the second guy it is hard to say where he was hit exactly, he seems to be bald under his cap or is this his open head we see ?
