What happened to Gordon Arnold's film?  (Read 829 times)

Gordon Arnold was on leave after finishing his basic training. In his uniform, he finds a spot in front of the stockade fence on the grassy knoll, and starts filming the cavalcade. He suddenly hears a shot whistle past his left ear from behind him, and, probably due to his army training,  immediately dives to the ground. His film is later was later passed to a D.P.D. officer and never returned. Neither the film or the Police Officer who took the film have ever been identified. His story seems to confirm that shot(s) were fired from the Grassy Knoll area.  I wonder what happened to his film. If it confirmed the official story then surely it would have surfaced.

Nothing happened to his film, his film never existed, he wasn't there.

Maybe Thierry could do a rendition of this. Thierry?

Senator Yarborough who was riding in LBJ's car said that he saw a figure in military uniform "immediately hit the dirt" in the position that Arnold said he was filming. (

let's remain factual. He didn't say he seen a man in military uniform.

Look at the scale of what a man would look like next to the wall, and what a man would look like standing next to the fence.

The Arnold illusion is much smaller than both, and is therefore an illusion. He wasn't there.

You are quite right, Gordon. What  Yarborough actually said was "There's an infantry man who 's either been shot at in combat or he's been trained thoroughly."

If he was right and there is no reason for him to say it other than he saw him, and Arnold says he was where Yarborough said he was, where's the argument? Are you saying that Arnold was liar, and both he and Yarborough were wrong.?

I'm saying that Arnold was not in Dealey Plaza that day, and that Yarborough was describing someone else.

Who that "someone else " was, I don't know.

Who else could have been in the position described by Senator Yarborough then, Gordon?

Apologies for calling you Gordon, Duncan. Gordon MacRae was one of my favorite musical stars.

Ray,  Robin Unger has an excellent photo gallery on this site.  Towner, Willis, Bell, Muchmore, Nix,  Weigman and Couch all show this area at one point or another.  I have never been able to spot a Gordon Arnold figure or a police encounter in that area on film.  The Moorman photo shows some interesting although grainy figures but when you do the actual measurements of the wall and the fence Gordons claims are not credible.  The figures behind the retaining wall are most likely a black family that was seated on the bench and observed by Marilyn Sitzman. When does Yarborough say that the man he saw dive to the ground was "in military uniform"?

Edit:  Never mind.  I see that Duncan addressed this misstatement already.
