Hi Wes Thank you for sharing these pictures with us. I especially like the one which shows the stockade fence and what little is seen of the parked vehicles in the parking lot

I like the first 2, because they show the downward slope of Elm St. really well.

I took a shot for you as well Gerda. I believe you were debating the height of the tool sheds. I am 6' 2". Wes Ah. I thought this might be yourself in this and one other picture Wes So you are 6'2"? That would have pretty much put you at the same approx. height of Orville Nix. He may have been slightly taller than you... not positive. But your height at the approx. Nix location for that one picture pretty much cinched one issue. At least for modern day views of vehicles (or lack of them) in the parking lot, we know that no wheels show. Much like Jim Pomerville's photos showed us too.

Rick , Check out the rail road tracks in that picture ,,,,, They look awful familiar ... lol . Also per Gary Mack , The parking lot has been repaved several times since 1963 ... So the vehicles we see , are at a higher elevation today compared to 1963. Thanks for the pixs Wes ,,,,

Yes Geoff, the decline at the triple underpass is steeper than it appears in the original films. I was able to coast down Elm from Houston in my car without hitting the brakes. Rick, you are correct, the parking lot has been leveled and paved in recent years. Wes
