I did owned and shot one i had it for 13 years.
So i can speak from personal experience on how the Carcano operates.
With the bolt being forward almost right above the trigger makes it a little harder to shot and work the the bolt.

Trying to do rapid fire was hard sometimes because it would ketch on the clip.

Trying to get 3 shots off in 5.6 seconds and hitting the target was hard to do with that rifle i did once or twice and that was at a standing
target it was it the distance of the z frame 313.

But i was under no pressure like Oswald was at he time.

For those who wonder about be being able to talk about shooting this rifle i have owner the following

7.65 sks
30/30
25/20
22
30.06

I have over the years had shot those rifles at different ranges or land that friends have owned and hit what i was aiming at.

I've watched Jesse Ventura's video a few times. The part where he pretends that he can't operate the carcano is pretty funny. What some people won't do for a buck, eh? P.T Barnum said it best.

At least a handful of us here own them. I have one that I purchased because I wanted to know the truth. I am too old to do things like 3 shots in 6 seconds, but I don't doubt that it can be done. My rifle is plenty accurate to do a deed like Oswald did with his. I plink with mine a bit, and reload for it.
Its not my place to tell you who else here owns one. Maybe they will reply, maybe not.

I once owned a biro with the pen removed, so I could spit bits of chewed up paper through it into girls hair that I fancied, whilst in the classroom.

*get's coat*

Cheers.

Still waiting on those pics, Geoff.

Try three shots in eight and a half seconds when you have to operate the bolt action only twice.

Sure, let's keep changing the time allowed Bill, let's say three shots over his ENTIRE LUNCH BREAK (30 minutes), okay?

Please.

Mine was set up just like Oswald's but i had a different sling.

With the last two shots about a second apart, of course.

Who got shot, and where on their body, at frame 295?

Why do you think it was at Z295?
