LN; So how did it happen then ?

CT; I don't know, I only know that it didn't happen the way the evidence says.

LN;  We should not use evidence in this case ?

CT; Correct.

I was 9 years old - and i was old enough to understand that warfare might be on the horizon. I can recall my parents discussing their worries about this. I mentioned on a previous thread that my family lived only a few miles away from 2 of the biggest USAF air force bases in England (Bentwaters and Woodbridge) and all personnel were called back to their bases that night - and many planes were in the air. It was clear that "things" were happening.

If i remember, the planes at the time based there were Phantoms - the noisiest things ever - and years later were replaced with Tankbusters A10.

These were very busy bases for decades and everyone here simply grew up with US planes in the sky - the tankbusters continually flew in pairs all day long doing touch and go landings and setting off again.

When, they closed both bases it was strange to adjust to the silence!!!! It has been proven over the last few years that we had nuclear warheads at Bentwaters, but we didnt know that at the time.

For anyone interested, we had our most ever significant UFO happening here in England in 1980 (our Roswell) - in the woodland halfway between both air force bases. The Rendlesham Forest UFO incident Woodbridge.

I remember at the time the Air Base Commander truly believed "something" happened there

Please refer to Google for details

I was not quite 4. I have some memory of the events, but nothing as engrained as someone who was older.

I was nine years old, mum, dad and I was watching TV, a drama series about a hospital called "EMERGENCY WARD TEN" was playing. At about 7.40 pm a news flash interrupted the program announcing JFK had been shot. About 8.oo pm the program was interrupted again announcing JFK was dead. For the rest of the evening nothing was broadcast except some guy sitting at a piano playing classical music (Bach I think) what surprised me was mum and dads reaction. Neither was at all interested in politics or world affairs, my dad especially was more the type to curse and swear because his TV program had been spoilt, but not this time, both were extremely upset, almost in a state of shock. The rest of the evening was very gloomy and depressing.

Hi Denis

Yes i remember Emergency Ward 10 also!!! My mum had a crush on one of the Doctors if i remember correctly. I wasnt allowed to murmur one single word when that was on.

In those days i remember we only had 2 channels to watch BBC and ITV Anglia. For political reasons they had to close down about 11 pm - just in case they hindered the average working man waking up tired in the morning unable to get to work on time and work effectively!!!!!!!!!!

Our TV aerial around 1960 was a sky high scaffolding pole stuck in the ground supported by 4 guy wires to hold it upright

A few years later i crashed into one of those wires on my Greeves Scramble bike in the garden , snapped it and the aerial nearly crashed to the ground.

Ooops - getting off subject Im afraid

Come on Craig, loosen up. Tell us what you were doing at the time, what you felt. Give us some details, you're not just a lens are you.

Hello, I am from Holland and new here although a visitor for a long time. I was 8 and remember it well watching television with my parents who where deeply schocked. I also remember that after the killing of Oswald no one in the family, even I, believed Oswald acted alone if involved at all.

I was 8 years old, attending the third grade in Annandale Virginia. It was announced that the President was killed and we were all to go home.

People say that everyone remembers where they were when they heard the news. Curiously, I don't have any memory of it. I don't remember if the whole school was assembled together or if it was just announced in the classroom. I do remember walking home with other students and we were real mad at the assassin.

Two days later I was in the backyard when I heard that Oswald had just been killed. No one was watching TV at the exact moment it happened.

My father considered having all of us go downtown to walk past the casket but he heard we would have to stand in line all day in the cold so we decided against it.

Our family believed it was Oswald alone right away and I have always believed that. And this belief has been reinforced when I later learned of Oswald's actions during the seventy five minutes after the assassination.

My family were Republicans but everyone was upset about the assassination. I don't recall any concerns about World War III breaking out over this.

I was 5.  I can recall my Mom answering the phone and becoming upset.  The TV came on and stayed on.  When Ruby shot Oswald (Hidell) by Dad grumbled "Something fishy is going on".

i wasnt born then , i am 33 just now however growing up my pappa would often recount storys and jfk speeches, jfk has always facinated me, being a irish catholic living in scotland there seemed to be a connection with jfk and many people of my pappa's generation when times were hard etc, jfk appeared to give people hope, my pappa often spoke of how he felt his own goverment were responsible and pretty much used to echo what jim douglas has since spoken of in his book the unspeakable ( maybe my pappa was before his time lol). like many on this forum i plan to head over for the 50th and would be delighted to grab a beer with most here , including bill and paul haha, who knows we should try to organise everyone meeting up ??? after all we all have the same goal, the truth!!
