If you were Caroline Kennedy, would you go to Dallas?  (Read 696 times)

AFAIK, the only member of JFK's immediate family to visit Dealey Plaza was Eunice Shriver in 1972. For obvious reasons, Jackie never returned, and JFK Jr. never visited before his untimely death. So that leaves Caroline. True, her journey would certainly be emotionally painful, but that hasn't stopped relatives of fallen soldiers from visiting sites like Pearl Harbor or Omaha Beach. Ditto the loved ones of 9/11 victims. If I were in her shoes, curiosity alone might propel me to the Sixth Floor Museum, but I'd never tell another person how to grieve.

I'd steer clear of that place if I were Caroline. If she wants to pay her respects then visiting Arlington Cemetery is more than good enough.

Well, somebody did it.

The white house is probably a more painful sight for her. My guess is that at some point if not already she will go to the plaza, maybe after she grows up. She's different though so its hard to say.

LN; So how did it happen then ?

CT; I don't know, I only know that it didn't happen the way the evidence says.

LN;  We should not use evidence in this case ?

CT; Correct.

You can't comparea visit by Caroline Kennedy to Dealey, to a visit by a member of a normal family member to a death site. If Caroline went to Dealey she would be mobbed by media and kooks. She would have to view the circuis. No way would I visit under those conditions if I was her and there is no way she ever will.

What is silly is thinking that two turns that reduced the speed of the car to 8-11 m.p.h. is no big deal when motorcades are suppose to keep a 44 m.p.h. speed..R Caprio

LHO had poor hand-eye coordination and proof of this is seen in the fact he couldn't drive an automobile--  R Caprio

I figured in incognito if at all.

Mark has an interesting take. She could pull it off easily if she wanted to. I think as we all know, there is often an urge by surviving family members to visit a location their loved one died at. I think in many instances it can help the survivors to understand, to get some closure, even if its only a little bit. Losing someone you really love before their time leaves you with a feeling of emptyness, of unfinished life business. Probably too many of us here know what I mean.

Maybe she already has. I think its normal to see where a loved one died, without a lot of fuss.

I'm not sure you ever really face it until you just get up and go there. One of my sisters died in a house fire and I felt like I had to go there to see it,  it was a few states away at a place that I had never been. I waited too long though, the house was eventually torn down and all I saw was the empty lot, but even that meant something and it did provide some sense of closure.

At least she is not afraid to use her real name!

Don't you love how these cowards hurl insults all the time?
