I'd say that Euins' original still statements hold water. Gerda's discovery of him pointing at the TSBD in Bell was a staggeringly good find. Euins identified the sixth floor shooter as being a "colored man" to officer D.V Harkness shortly after the assassination. Harkness doesn't mention skin color during his WC testimony but luckily Jim Underwood overheard the exchange and questioned Euins further. See Underwoods statement to the WC here: As a guest, you are not allowed to view links.
Register or Loginspecifically: Yes, Euins states the gunman was 'white' in a statement made to the Sherrff's office later that day, but read between the lines already: As a guest, you are not allowed to view links.
Register or LoginEuins is waffling on the 'white' comment in his WC statements a few months later, but is too smart to push the issue: As a guest, you are not allowed to view links.
Register or LoginI think Euins saw the same person that Arnold Rowland identified as a thin, elderly negro in the western window of the sixth floor. As for the need for a black person in the snipers nest .... read up on Eugene Dinkin's comments (the assassination was to be blamed on a communist or a negro) and those of ACLU head lawyer A L Wirin during a debate with Mark Lane (‘I say thank God for Earl Warren. He saved us from a pogrom. He saved our nation. God bless him for what he has done in establishing that Oswald was the lone assassin.’) The people behind the operational aspects of the assassination did this stuff for a living. Certain mechanisms were built into the plot to short-circuit any potential investigations. Threat of a backlash against the african-american community - at the height of the civil rights movement - was one of them. Possible Cuban/Russian involvement was another. I was half-way home in my thinking re: the above before stumbling on this site a few months back: As a guest, you are not allowed to view links.
Register or LoginI don't agree with a few things and reject his ultimate conclusions re: the masterminds, but kudos to whomever put that site together. I'd missed the Jim Underwood statements entirely. I recall a thread on Lancer where they had posted photo's of Eddie Piper As a guest, you are not allowed to view links.

Strangely enough, I was just reviewing some of the stuff on Euins last night, and noticed this:
Mr. STERN - Then you accompanied Brennan and Euins where? Mr. SORRELS - To the sheriff's office, which was right across the street from the Book Depository. Mr. STERN - Did you have any further conversation withe them on the way over there? Mr. SORRELS - Oh, yes; we discussed--I was talking to him on the way over there about what they saw and observed, and told them we would like to come in there where we could get their statements down in writing. Mr. STERN - Did they tell you anything that you have not already told us? Mr. SORRELS - Not that I recall. The little colored boy mentioned he was there with another colored boy that ran off when this thing happened--at the first shot this boy ran off. He said he stayed there, but the other boy ran off. I didn't make any effort to get touch with him, because he apparently saw nothing.
APPARENTLY SAW NOTHING! RAN OFF AT THE FIRST SHOT! Well, watch the films! No one ran off at the first shot. Read the testimony. Virtually no one thought the first shot was a shot! If Euins' friend ran off right away it's a good bet he saw the shooter.
Perhaps, then, Euins saw no one, and only stayed behind to report what his still unidentified friend saw.
Perhaps Don Roberdeau, or someone equally adept at reaching out to witnesses, can talk to Euins, and finally get his friend's story... If it's not already too late.
Thanks Pat That may account for the other boy seen sitting on the pedestal in Bell and Martin. ?

Amos Euins seen sitting in Inspector Sawyers squad car in front of the TSBD steps, where he was approached by Jim Underwood. Full size Scan taken from Trask's " That Day In Dallas " here: As a guest, you are not allowed to view links.

This is a stabilised Gif created by Rick i think, the young boy on the WEST pedestal seems to wear a cap. I think it is Euins,(but the jacket is not as long ) and in this position , is not able to see the highway B/W signs, but can see the Thornton sign in diagonal. Not a , but unable to remember his position 1 year after. As a guest, you are not allowed to view links.
Register or LoginCould it be Amos Euins on this Hughes frame? He is behind the red skirt girl and pointing to the TSBD. (gerda stabilsation on a car park thread) As a guest, you are not allowed to view links.

Register or Login He appears to wear a tie. Euins didn't I believe. (GIF, 4.1MB) ETA: You mean the man pointing towards the TSBD ? He IMO shoos away the people from that area.

He appears to me to be an elderly man.

Is this really Amos Euins sitting on this pedestal. Since Euins says that he was crouched down behind the opposite pedestal as the shots rang out. ? Robin, i always thought that this is Amos ín the Martin film. Gary Mack informed me sometime ago that Amos was placed on a different position. Anyway, either Amos memory was false or Gary Mack's thinking. best to you Martin
