The key question is not "Does she look like a spook?" It is "Do the facts support that she was a spook?"
If she was a spook, her primary mission would be to get Oswald his job. Framing Oswald would not require her. The police could plant what ever evidence they wanted once they got a search warrant. But does it really look like she arranged everything to get Oswald his job? Yes. She was the one, at an informal meeting of four Texas housewives, who said that Oswald needed a job. But did she arrange everything?
The basic facts are:
* In 1959 Michael and Ruth Paine moved into a house in Irving Texas.
* In 1961, I believe, (Linnie Randle said she lived across the street from Ruth Paine for two years) Bill and Linnie Randle moved into a house across the street from Michael and Ruth Paine.
* In September 1963, after graduating from high school, Buell Frazier moved into the house of his sister and husband, Bill and Linnie Randle.
* In September 1963, Buell Frazier got a job at the Texas School Book Depository (TSBD).
* In September 1963, Marina Oswald separated from her husband and moved in with Ruth Paine as a guest.
* In October 1963, Dorothy Roberts invited three neighbors, Linnie Randle, Ruth Paine and Marina Oswald for coffee. It was here that the subject of Oswald needing a job was brought up and Ruth Paine found out about Buell Frazier working at the TSBD.
**********
Now, if Ruth Paine did all the arranging for Oswald to get a job at the TSBD, did she:
Scenario 1:
* Arrange for the Randles to move across the street from her?
* Arrange for Buell Frazier to move in with his sister and brother-in-law?
* Arrange for Buell Frazier to work at the TSBD?
* Arrange for Dorothy Roberts to invite the three Texas housewives over for coffee?
Scenario 2:
Or did it happen differently. By sheer luck, she found out that someone on her block worked at the TSBD. So it was a simple manner to drop some hints and get the four housewives together.
Scenario 1 sounds very unlikely. It would mean the CIA was controlling a lot of ordinary people. Scenario 2 sounds like a big coincidence. What are the odds of having someone who works at the TSBD living across the street from her working at the TSBD?
*****
It does not seem like Ruth Paine is a spook, regardless of what she looks like. Oswald got his job by happenstance, the same way millions of others do. No vast conspiracy directed him to that job.
In my opinion, Ruth Paine is not a spook. She was just a housewife who was helping Marina and her family. It is true that Oswald received word of the job opening and started at the Depository on October 16, 1963. He never missed a day a work in the five weeks he was working there. It is interesting to note that Oswald was to be let go on Friday, November 15 due to things being slow ... It was only a temporary position anyway. But because the company was putting down a new floor on the sixth floor, Roy Truly used his full time men to do this work, enabling Oswald and other temporary workers to stay and fill book orders. Talking about happenstance!!! ALSO, when taking the job in October, Roy Truly could have assigned Oswald to the other building located at 1917 Houston Street. Another worker started at that address on October 16 and Oswald at the corner of Houston and Elm. IF ONLY ........ ? Thank you again Paul for raising the question and have a good day today. Greg

Police found numerous index cards about pro-Castro sympathizers in her ( Ruth Paine ) home. (Just a hobby?)
They found file cabinets full of files.

The cabinets disappeared after DPD took possession of them.

SUPPLEMENTARY INVESTIGATION REPORTRef: Death of President 11-23-63 Mr. Decker "About 8:00 am this morning, while in the presents of Allen Sweatt, I talked to Sorrels the head of the Dallas Secreat Service. I advised him that for the past few months at a house at 3128 Harlendale some Cubans had been having meetings on the week ends and were possably connected with the "Freedom For Cuba Party" of which Oswald was a member."11-26-63 I don't know what action the secreat service has taken but I learned today that sometime between seven days before the president was shot and the day after he was shot these Cubans moved from this house. My informant stated that subject Oswald had been to this house before.Buddy Walthers

I have always thought Ruth and Micheal Paine were lefties. ACLU type lefties. Not radical overthrow the government type lefties. Socialism will prevail type lefties. Not lets kill the president type lefties. I know Oswald was very interested in Micheal Paines ACLU involvement and tried to impress him with his radicalism. Paine wasn't impressed.
gee, do you have any evidence to support this? more importantly, can you - or any other warren commission defender - explain the provenance of the minox camera, and the file cabinets full of names/info aout cubans? are you aware that ruth paine visited her sister - who worked for the cia at the time, and for years after - in the summer of '64? you are aware that cord meyer started out on the left, and eventually became a big wheel in the cia? and used the "cover" of various quaker and other religious groups to spy on the soviet union and it's satellites, particularly various "world youth peace meetings", and that gloria steinem was once - allegedly unwittingly - on the payroll of the cia? now, what all these things mean, well, draw your own conclusions.
