Last night I read the chapter in High Treason by Groden and Livingstone on the backyard photos.
It seems to me, on simple comparison of the backyard photos with the mug shot of Oswald, that the backyard photos must be faked.
The reason is the chin/jaw doesn't match up at all.
In the mug shot of Oswald, Oswald's chin compared to his face comes to a relatively narrow "point." As in \_/, or almost \/
However, in the "backyard" photos, the jaw/chin is much wider and the face looks more like this \__/
The face of Oswald above the chin has been superimposed over someone else's body up to and including their chin.
Today, there are software programs which are used to detect people in places where it is feard that they may do harm, and was are called facial recognition software. I suspect it would be simple matter to compare the face of Oswald in the mug shot with the "face" of Oswald in the backyard photos, and to see that they don't match, "scientifically." However, I don't have the funds or the knowledge of how to do that. However, someone who has or uses facial recognition software could do it instantly, I assume. And, they would verify what anyone can see simply by comparing the two photos.
Also, in the High Treason book, it says that if you look at a several-generation copy of the CE133A, backyard photo, that you can actually see the line where Oswald's face begins. The book says, "The crop line in the chin becomes more evident in successive generations of the photos."
Another question I might ask is whether the chins are the same in all 3 backyard photos 133A, 133B and 133C.
There is another problem perhaps with the shadow under the nose. The shadow under the nose and in the mustache area is neat and narrow. It would be formed by taking a photograph of someone at about noon (or whenever the sun is high in the sky, perhaps highest in the sky) and with Oswald facing in the direction of the sunlight. However, according to Marina, the photos were taken much later in the afternoon.
Here are some further comments from Michael Griffith:
Let us detail some of the more serious shadow problems in the backyard pictures:
The nose and eye shadows fall straight down. In fact, the nose shadow forms a nearly perfect V-shape as it falls straight down. The position of the nose and eye shadows indicates that the sun was directly above and slightly in front of the head. In other words, the nose and eye shadows were caused by the sun at around noon time. Yet, the body shadows in 133-A and C fall at a ten o'clock angle, indicating that the body in these pictures was photographed much later in the day, at around 4:00 or 4:30. Furthermore, the nose shadow remains the same in all the snapshots, even though the head is tilted in at least one of the them. This is a photographic impossibility. Additionally, since the nose and eye shadows fall straight down and hence indicate a sun directly above, both sides of the neck should be in shadow. However, although the right side of neck is almost totally in shadow, only about half of the left side of the neck is in shadow.
* Why were the clothes shown on the figure in the backyard photos never found among Oswald's possessions?
* Why was Oswald never known to have worn the watch that is on the figure's left wrist?
* How could the photos be three different pictures when various shadows and patches of light in the background remain in the same position and/or retain the same form?
