thats like saying the US deliberately did PEARL HARBOR , so they can enter WWII.
In a way that's true...They had broken the Japanese purple (diplomatic) code and knew relations with the USA were to be broken off and that an attack was imminent...they just didn't know exact location or date.... They knew the Japanese fleet had left Japanese waters but lost them in weather.... They tracked the incoming first waves of attack aircraft on radar...it was reported by the radar operator to his commanding officer...that officer passed the information upstairs and was told to ignore it, it was "probably" an incoming flight of a "few" B-17's from California. Of course Pearl Harbor had the desired results of getting the USA into the war. Something the American public was not ready to do before that.
