Duncan, these images where exposed on the day of the assassination from the Dal Tex building. Thanks to a tip from a DPD officer, he also exposed a number of images around Walker's home.
Hope this helps your research.

Thanks John, interesting. Do you know who took them, what time, what floor etc, and did you come across these on the web, or were they given to you privately? Thanks Duncan

The photographer, Shel Hershorn was a freelance photographer. His photographs include the images posted, Oswald inside the DPD headquaters, the shooting of Oswald and General Walker's home. Sorry, but I can not tell you which floor he exposed the rifle/scope images from the Dal-Tex building. johnw

John,
Don't know if you've got the answers, but:
Why did he take these photographs from the DalTex building? Especially on the 22nd, when, at that stage as far as I am aware, everyone had already decided that all shots came from the TSBD?
Who is holding the rifle?
How did they get a rifle in there and do all of this when the place was supposedly crawling with police?
The view into the plaza doesn't show many people - was this early morning perhaps?

Ian, there is very little information about these images. From memory, Shel arrived later that day. He was told by an unknown Dallas Police officer to take photographs from the Dal-Tex building and General Walker's home which includes an image of one of Walker's members (sorry i can't recall his name at this moment) :-\ Later he was able to exposed the other images. I have a number of his contact sheets on file, along with Altgens, Daniels, Murry etc. Around 3,000 images, 1,000 prints & negatives, 1,000 35mm slides, 100 telefax images, three dozen films from 8mm to 35 mm format. The subjects included: Cuba, Dallas, various investigations, BOP's, Cuban Missile Crisis, covert opts and the Cuban exiles.
