This bag's too small!  (Read 608 times)

Right, there's plenty of confusion, speculation, conjecture and obfuscation regarding the so called "paper sack" that Oswald allegedly used to take the M-C into the TSBD on that fateful Friday. I'm not going to clear that up!! No, just another way of thinking about...

The rifle that was found on the 6th floor of the TSBD that Oswald supposedly took into the building that morning within a paper sack was 40" long, yet Oswald/Hidell is supposed to have ordered a 36" weapon. Now the paper sack that was "found" on the 6th floor was 38" long...hmmm...just long enough for a 36" rifle.

When Oswald collected the rifle, he probably looked at it and it appeared to be the right one, after all it was only 4" longer than advertised and I don't expect he got out a measuring tape to check - I doubt very much he even though about the length being any different from the 36" ordered. If someone handed me something 40" long and said it was 36", I doubt I could argue with them unless I could measure the item.

Could it have been that Oswald asked someone to make the paper sack for the express purpose of transporting his rifle and, when asked how big the rifle was that had to go into the bag, Oswald said 36" which is what he thought it was, therefore, whoever made the bag for him may have thought "Right a 36 inch rifle, best make the bag a bit longer to ensure that the rifle could be concealed within it", hence the 38" bag?
