To all, 1-1 against Jolly Old England and her not so happy holligans !!! I'll give the English credit they tried to avenge 1950 in the first 6 minutes or so. It was a huuuuuuge gut check by the Yanks the rest of that half particularly with our defense not wanting to communicate with each other around the box. Greatest "D'OH" moment is Soccer history when Dempsey hit that ball off of Green's hands. Feel bad for the kid but it sure shut up the English quick !!! Man of the Match goes to our Goal Keeper Howard. Dude was NAILS afterword, particularly after hurting his arm/shoulder. Given our respective rankings I can live quite nicely with a draw particularly given our opponent !!! Modified by Admin: Changed Brits to English - Reason: It was the English, not the Brits.

The difference is that they are representing England, and NOT any of the other countries which make up the U.K.

Ok I get it, the Uk is made up of what we in the US call states. We call our states names like Texas, Florida, New York, and such. The UK calls them Scotland, Ireland.

Bill, there's a HUGE difference between calling Texas, Florida and New York states and comparing that to Scotland, Ireland and England as being the same. Texas is not a country. Scotland, Ireland and England are their own countries.
Right?

Well done USA. We really were rubbish this evening but that doesn't detract from your perfornance. I hope we both win our next two games and both go through to the next round.
As for the British stuff, I never refer to myself as British and there are a growing number of Englishmen for whom the whining of the other UK nations has reached the point where we just want them to be granted independence and go away! It's all very strange really because it feels like half the Scottish population, even though they hate us so much, live in England!

Well done, Robert Green. You really gave us the moment of the day.
I still don't get why they didn't use Joe Hart instaed of Green. Hart's a much better keeper.
Anyway, it's nice to get the World Cup started. It's going to be a great month of football(real football, not the american kind).

LN; So how did it happen then ?
CT; I don't know, I only know that it didn't happen the way the evidence says.
LN; We should not use evidence in this case ?
CT; Correct.

Right?
Are you sure about that Bill?
