I believe this photo to be CE345 Commission Document 3 - Secret Service Report of 18 Dec 1963 Current Section: 8. Diagram and Photographs of the President's Car Need to know, To what purpose did the WC use this photo for and do they consider this to be the car used in Dealey Plaza.

I think that is just one of several photos taken by the Secret Service just after the Presidential limousine had been parked in the White House house garage. Don't remember how many were originally in the set. Someone else has the entire entire set in a gallery.

Thanks Anthony & Bernice, It's very important that we understand that the Secrete Service acknowledges that this is the Dallas limo and that the WC used it as evidence, If so then someone has a problem, The limo used in Dallas has backup lights mounted in the rear bumper and a higher bumper guard across the spare tire cover. I suppose it could be that they accidentally also took some photos of the back-up limousine. Somewhere there are some photos of that second limousine, but I can't remember any view from behind.

The limousine was unique, I have never heard of a backup limo. The pictures to me show a vehicle with backup lights in the bumper, and a bar across the spare tire cover. That bar looks lower than the top of the bumper for two reasons: one, it was slightly lower; two, the photo is taken from above the bumper and the bar behind the spare tire is closer to the photographer than the bumper itself. I have no doubt these photos are of the vehicle Kennedy was riding in in Dallas. It was a rather magnificent automobile, the last open car a President will ever ride in, and I have spent a lot of time studying its details.

The back-up limo was rarely used by JFK. It was used mainly by Jackie. It did not have the parade bar, jump seats, handholds or spare tire. I assume the rear seat did not rise either. He used it in Florida a couple of times because I think they sent the GG-300 on ahead on a different plane. As a guest, you are not allowed to view links.

Jackie's "backup limo" was an ordinary lincoln sedan , not a limo. It is the the same limo on the two pictures, the chrome back is visible, and the backlights are inclinated, so it is barely visible on the close view, the photographer is above the diagonal. Register or LoginThese pictures are plastic models of the President's limousine as it was originally presented to the White House. Notice the footrests on the sides of the car. Here is a photo showing them when the limo was delivered to the White House. As a guest, you are not allowed to view links.
