Hi Martin.

This may help to pinpoint some of the Dealey Plaza Witness's in the assassination films.

The first one is Arnold Rowland & his wife on 22/11/63

Martin.

The third officer on the Elm & Houston corner.

TESTIMONY OF WELCOME EUGENE BARNETT

Mr. LIEBELER - Now, going back, you got to the area around 10 o'clock; is that right?
Mr. BARNETT - Yes, sir.
Mr. LIEBELER - Where did you go when you got there?
Mr. BARNETT - Well there were three of us assigned to that one corner.
Mr. LIEBELER - Who were the other officers?
Mr. BARNETT - Who were the other officers?
Mr. LIEBELER - Yes.
Mr. BARNETT - J.D. Smith, and another officer named Smith. I don't know his initials. E.L. I believe.
Mr. LIEBELER - Did you divide your duties among yourselves when you got there, or had you been specifically instructed as to what each one was supposed to do?
Mr. BARNETT - We divided our duties.
Mr. LIEBELER - How did you do that?
Mr. BARNETT - Well, as best I remember, we each picked a corner and got on the corner. We were advised to stay on our corner, not to cross over to idly talk, but to stay on the corner and keep our eyes open and be ready.

Mr. LIEBELER - Did you remain there at all times from 10 o'clock until the motorcade arrived?
Mr. BARNETT - Yes; well, of course, I was here until we got word to stop the traffic, and I stepped out of this position here. I had to stop traffic from Houston here and help the other officers stop it on Elm, and stop this traffic on this small street that goes in front of the Depository Building.
Mr. LIEBELER - When the motorcade actually came, you moved over pretty much into Houston Street?
Mr. BARNETT - Yes, sir.
Mr. LIEBELER - To stop the traffic that was coming?
Mr. BARNETT - South on Houston Street.
Mr. LIEBELER - South on Houston Street?
Mr. BARNETT - Yes, sir; Elm Street is so wide, and I helped these officers here stop this traffic here.
Mr. LIEBELER - You are satisfied that you were further out into the intersection?
Mr. BARNETT - Yes, sir; the car passed within a few feet of me, and I was holding some people, or seeing that they stayed back, and one small boy started. I was afraid he was going to get too close, and I stopped him.

Martin i am pretty sure that this is the Officer seen in Altens 6 standing near the boy and the wo women.

Did Dallas Policemen wear light coloured trousers?
I'm sure I remember someone once saying that this guy must me some kind of security gaurd, and not a Policeman.

Duncan, can you give us the full informations from Gary Mack to make sure to got the record straight?

It is important to get it correct without mistakes.

Martin

Gary Mack has informed me that I am correct that the man in Altgens is not a Dallas Police officer, and that he appears to be a Sheriff's Department deputy or a similar county officer.

That is all the information I received.

Thanks Duncan.

If thats not the man, then Officer Edgar Smith descreption is wrong or his memory playing tricks with him.
And the information provided on this website are also wrong.

Robin, i think i found Skaggs in Mentesana. Totally coincidence.

Look at the left. There is a photographer.

You can see him also pretty good in motion on Youtube in the short Mentesana film.

Here is the still photograph.

If this has been already discovered, forget it. To me it's a new discover.
And it clearly shows that the rifle was a police officer pumpshot gun and not a Mauser nor a Carcano.

What do you think?

Exellent Martin.

Yes it was a shotgun.

I had not associated these two views to show Skaggs, good work Martin.   clapxx   10fjyfjfyg

Thanks Robin.

Sometimes it's helpful to find and associate people in DP in all this photographs and is not a waste of time.
(I read that recently on a another forum)
In this case for instance, it debunked the myth of a second Carcano/Mauser from the 6floor in Mentesena very clearly i think.
Though some CT'er might dislike it but the truth is all what matters.

Agreed Martin.

By cross referencing the individual photo's, we get the clearest picture regarding camera  positions, photographers POV etc:

most deffinately NOT a waste of time, it is REQUIRED if we are to evaluate the images correctly.
