Martin.

As Chris pointed out yesterday Bonds final filming position was near the pigeon holes on the wall.

Looking at  this image it now appears that Muchmore and Bond ended up in the same location ( at the pigeon holes in the peristyle wall )

Yes Robin.
I think we can give Bond and Muchmore a rest.

I thank you for making all this material available. I thank also Duncan.
It was a year ago or so, that i stumbled over this website with the great PhotoResearchGallery.
Hanging around for some time and my research devotion was born.

Robin, on the search of Garland Slack i try to figure out where Sheriff Decker's office is.

From his testimony:

Mr. Decker.
That is correct. I am keeper of the county security building, of the county jail, which maintains
the prisoners.
Mr. Hubert.
That is located where?
Mr. Decker.
505 Main Street, the corner of Main and Houston, and it extends to the corner of Elm and
Houston in the rear.

The Cutler map tells the same.

Have you any photos from inside Bill Decker's office, Robin?

Thanks

Thanks mate.

The way is see the layout of the rooms is here.

It appeared to me the position of Murray's photo through the glass was exactly the same room where he was at 12:30PM.
The location of Decker's office is then the second pair of windows.

If all this is correct....then Garland Slack is one of this two men.

From Garland Slack's affidavite:

VOLUNTARY STATEMENT. Not Under Arrest Form No. 86
SHERIFF'S DEPARTMENT
COUNTY OF DALLAS, TEXAS
Before me, the undersigned authority, on this the 22nd day of November A.D. 1963 personally appeared Garland Glenwill Slack, Address: 4130 Deely [sp?] St., Dallas, Age 59, Phone No. EV 1 2950
Deposes and says:

Today, I was standing on Houston Street, just below the window to Sheriff Decker's office waiting for the parade. I was standing there when the President's car passed and just after they rounded the corner from Houston onto Elm Street, I heard a report and I knew at once it was a high-powered rifle shot. I am a [cross-out] big game hunter and am familiar with the sound of hi [sic] powered rifles and I knew when I heard the retort [sic] that the shot had hit something. Within a [cross-out] few seconds I heard another retort [sic] and knew it also had hit something and all I could see was the highly colored hat that Mrs. Kennedy had on. I couldn't see anything else. I was so sick that I went back to my office but after thinking it over, I came back as a citizen to offer my statement if it could help in any way. During the time I was standing there I did look up into the building where the Texas Book Depository is and saw some people, maybe 12 or 14, hanging out of windows, but I didn't see anyone with a gun.

When the sound of this shot came, it sounded to me like this shot came from away back or from within a building. I have heard this same sort of sound when a shot has come from within a cave, as I have been on many big game hunts.

/s/ G. G. Slack

Subscribed and sworn to before me on this the 22nd day of Nov A. D. 1963

Take a look at Don's map Robin.  Hehe

Martin if Don's plat is spot on then Slack would be the guy on the right.

Note the divider in the middle of the two panes of glass, that make up the window frame.

Martin.

We should be able to see this man and woman standing together on the corner of Elm and Houston they both worked together on the ground floor of the Records Builing.
Mary Ann came out of the elm st entrance of the Records Building and walked down to the corner of the building where she  stood on the south east curb of Elm and Houston.

We should see them standing together in Altgens 5

TESTIMONY OF MARY ANN MITCHELL

Mr. BALL - On the 22nd of November 1963, about noontime, where were you?
Miss. MITCHELL - About noontime?
Mr. BALL - Yes.
Miss. MITCHELL - I was in the office about noon.
Mr. BALL - Working?
Miss. MITCHELL - Working, which is in the basement of the Records Building.
Mr. BALL - Did you leave there some time, leave the office to see the parade that morning?
Miss. MITCHELL - Yes, as a matter of fact, I went up to see the parade since we were in the basement.
Mr. BALL - What time did you leave the building?
Miss. MITCHELL - At possibly 12:25 or 12:27, something like that.
Mr. BALL - Whom were you with?
Miss. MITCHELL - I left the office with Jim Crawford.
Mr. BALL - Where did you go?
Miss. MITCHELL - I went out onto the street and down to the corner of the building.
Mr. BALL - That means you would be on what corner of what streets?
Miss. MITCHELL - I went out the Elm Street entrance of the building and I was on the corner of Elm and Record - I'm sorry, Elm and Houston.
Mr. BALL - Which corner?
Miss. MITCHELL - I knew you were going to ask that and I decided it's probably the northwest corner. I am not good at directions.
Mr. BALL - Let's put it this way-
Miss. MITCHELL - It's the corner diagonally across the intersection from the Texas School Book Depository.
Mr. BALL - The Texas School Book Depository is on the northwest corner; that would put you on the southeast corner.
Miss. MITCHELL - Yes, sir; I was thinking about which corner of the building.
Mr. BALL - The northwest corner of the building and the southwest corner of the intersection, is that right?
Miss. MITCHELL - Yes, sir.
Mr. BALL - Were you near the curb when you were standing?
Miss. MITCHELL - Yes; I was on the curb.

Crawford, James N.   WC Testimony   Witness at assassination scene.

Mr. BALL - How long have you been with the county of Dallas?
Mr. CRAWFORD - About 10 years.
Mr. BALL - You are a deputy county clerk there?
Mr. CRAWFORD - District clerk.
Mr. BALL - On November 22, 1963, about around 12 o'clock or so. where were you?
Mr. CRAWFORD - I was in the office of the district clerk
Mr. BALL - Did you later leave and go out into the street?
Mr. CRAWFORD - About 12:25, we left the office and went out to the corner of Houston and Elm.
Mr. BALL - You went with whom?
Mr. CRAWFORD - Mary ann Mitchell.
Mr. BALL - She works in the office with you?
Mr. CRAWFORD - She is in the office with me.
Mr. BALL - What is her occupation in the office?
Mr. CRAWFORD - Assistant to the district clerk
Mr. BALL - Where is your office located in Dallas?
Mr. CRAWFORD - It's located on the ground floor of the Records Building.

Hi Robin.

Yes, thats the corner Elm-Houston diagonally across the the TSBD at the Dallas County Records building.
There are a lot of crowds in this area and also hard to distinguish in Altgens5 the exact corner.

Somewhere in this area Crawford and Mitchell should be.
Everybody wanted to see the motorcade, so i think both are there anywhere in this vicinity.

Don knows propably more why he placed Crawford there, where he did.

Robin, as i try to figure out where Hugh Aynesworth was standing (Don has him in his map)
i could find only one source where Aynesworth described his location around 12:30PM:

“I went over to the area around Elm and Houston Streets and was there when the three shots rang out. Three definite shots. Total chaos. I still have trouble putting it all together, how it happened.” (No More Silence, published 1998, p.21-40) “There was no particular reason why I went to Elm Street other than the crowds were larger along Main Street, two or three deep, and I wanted to get a clearer view. Locating myself in the middle of the street a little toward the curb, had I looked up to my right I could have seen Oswald up there...

Source Pat Speer.

Sure, this is a bit nebulous. Elm or Houston?
The theory that he was actually on Houston street is supported by his own words:
had I looked up to my right I could have seen Oswald up there

Up to his right is the TSBD, where he believed Oswald shot from.
Nevertheless we should consider that Ike Altgens for instance can say the same...deep down Elm at the time of the shooting.
But on the other hand, i see nobody in this rare crowded area on the south side of elm street whom fits him.
And...he says he stands on a curb, not on the grass.

So, i think he was on Houston street on the curb.

Hugh Aynesworth is an American journalist. He was the lead reporter for the Dallas Morning News at the time of the John F. Kennedy assassination and was the first print reporter to interview Lee Harvey Oswald's widow, Marina Oswald. Aynesworth was present during Kennedy's assassination, he was the first reporter to arrive at the scene of J.D. Tippit's murder in Oak Cliff in Dallas, and he was present at Lee Harvey Oswald's arrest at the Texas Theater in Dallas. Hugh was 32 years old at the time of this fateful happening.

He is a well known face and appeared for instance in the documentary "Oswald's ghost"
And an advocate of the Lone gun man theory.

Here a picture of him from 1963 interviewing Marina Oswald:

Take a look at Altgens5 please.

I see a strong resemblence in this person here:

Look at the hairline and the smirk.

What do you think?

BTW, everybody is invited to check our findings and criticism it.

Martin
