Are there flower tributes on the grass in that sequence Duncan?
Could this be one of the Cooper scenes from the 23rd?

Kinda looks like part of the "rush to the knoll" but very hard to tell.
Be great to see the full clip if it is.

Hi Alan,

I'm not sure what day it was filmed by Cook. I can't see any flowers on the grass, which suggests to me it's the 22nd. The quality of the Youtube clip is too bad to come to a conclusion, and a good quality clip would maybe show the time on the clock. Maybe Gary Mack could advise. Gary?

All,

Here’s some things to note in that You Tube clip of the Cooper film:

1:58   Jimmy Darnell of WBAP in RR yards filming the west façade of the TSBD
2:12   left side of frame – Jim Underwood (w/o camera, he’s returned it to Sanderson by this time) wearing gray raincoat. DPD Sgt Harkness talking on his 3 wheeler radio.
2:32   Underwood (again, w/o camera) running right to left across the intersection, probably returning from calling in a report that was broadcast on KRLD radio
2:38   Underwood walking left to right

This is all footage shot by Don Cook of KVTV.

Todd

Good eye Todd

Thanks

Robin,

That's a great still capture from the Cook film.

On the far right in the dark suit is Buddy Walthers. Moving right to left next to Walthers is Underwood, and then a cameraman who I believe is KRLD's Sandy Sanderson, Underwoods counterpart. If you watch this scene in motion, you'll see Underwood walking away from Sanderson and then doing an about face and coming back to him a bit. I think this is them moment where they were deciding that Sanderson would remain on scene with the camera and Underwood would go use a telephone to file his report which was broadcast on KRLD radio.

I don't know who the guy in shirtsleeves on the far right is, but I've always thought he looked like the actor Ed Harris. :)
