Death in Washington is a 1980 book (out of print) by Donald Freed.

It is a must read for anyone interested in the JFK assassanation, CIA covert ops and propaganda and more, specifically about the master of all spies: David Atlee Phillips.

Thanks, Wim, for this interesting reading tip! This book is also about the murder of Orlando Letelier 1976, the Chilenian political activist against the Pinochet regime. Bad thing, this dictatorship or Pinochet. The US foreign policy under Kissinger probably wanted a politically weak South America to avoid another political competitor and that's why they sent all these CIA contract killers into that continent to remove the good people from power.
Your quote of James Files is matching very well. It's amazing how good his judgement is "... people believe what they read more or less ..." .
Like people read the official LNT in the newspaper and because it is in the newspaper there must be something to it and some of them even post on jfkassassinationforum and repeat the LNT, cause it's what they read in the newspaper, saw on TV or heard from a "serious jfk-assassination-researcher".
